حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُبَارَكٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
إِذَا اسْتَجَدَّ ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ قَمِيصٌ أَوْ عِمَامَةٌ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ.

✧ When he acquired a new garment, he would name it by its name, a shirt or a turban, then say: O Allah, to You be praise; You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.
