حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ نَهَارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ

إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى يَقُولَ: مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ تُنْكِرُهُ، فَإِذَا لَقَّى اللهُ عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ: يَا رَبِّ، وَثِقْتُ بِكَ، وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ

✧ Indeed, Allah, blessed and exalted, will question the servant on the Day of Resurrection until he says: What prevented you, when you saw evil, from denouncing it? Then when Allah grants a servant his argument, he will say: O Lord, I trusted in You and feared the people.
