حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ نَهَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ

إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيُسْأَلُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِيمَا يُسْأَلُ عَنْهُ أَنْ يُقَالَ: مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُنْكِرَ الْمُنْكَرَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ ؟ قَالَ: فَمَنْ لَقَّنَهُ اللهُ حُجَّتَهُ قَالَ: رَبِّ رَجَوْتُكَ، وَخِفْتُ النَّاسَ

Translation

✧ Indeed, one of you will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection until it is said to him, among what he is asked: 'What prevented you from denouncing evil when you saw it?' He said: 'If Allah prompts him with his proof, he will say: My Lord, I hoped in You and feared the people.'
