✧ "Some people, indeed, observe it every year. So we went to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and I said, 'O Abu Sa'id, did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioning the Night of Qadr?' He said, 'Yes, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed i'tikaf during the middle ten days of Ramadan and we also observed it with him. Then, when the morning of the twentieth day came, he returned and we returned with him. And he indicated the Night of Qadr for us, but then I forgot it.' So he said, 'Indeed, I saw the Night of Qadr, but then I forgot it. And in my vision, I saw myself prostrating in mud and water. Whoever observes i'tikaf with me, let him return to his i'tikaf and seek it in the last ten nights, in the odd-numbered nights. And on the last of those nights, the sky poured down rain upon us. And half of the mosque was covered with palm leaves and twigs.' And he, who is the most honorable and upon whom Allah sent down the Book, led us in the Maghrib prayer on the twenty-first night. Indeed, his forehead and the bridge of his nose were covered with water and mud."
