حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍعَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ يُخَاصِمُونَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي الْقَدَرِ، فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ.

✧ The polytheists of Quraysh came arguing with the Prophet ﷺ about the divine decree, so this verse was revealed: The day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces: Taste the touch of Saqar. Indeed, We have created everything by decree.
