حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْوَسَاوِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْعُكْلِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَ:

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى أَعْوَادِ الْمِنْبَرِ، يَقُولُ: اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ، فَإِنَّهَا تُقِيمُ الْعِوَجَ وَتَدْفَعُ مِيتَةَ السُّوءِ، وَتَقَعُ مِنَ الْجَائِعِ مَوْقِعَهَا مِنَ الشَّبْعَانِ

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ on the wooden pulpit saying: Guard against the Fire, even with half a date. It straightens what is crooked, wards off an evil death, and takes from the hungry the place it takes from the full.
