✧ Sa'd fell ill in Makkah, and the Prophet ﷺ came to visit him. He said, "O Messenger of God, I fear dying in this land as Sa'd b. Khawla died, so supplicate God to heal me." He said, "O God, heal Sa'd," three times. He said, "O Messenger of God, I have much wealth and no heir except distant kin. Should I bequeath half my wealth?" He said, "No." He said, "Should I bequeath a third of my wealth?" He said, "A third is a lot—or much. Your charity from your wealth is charity for you, and your wife's eating from your food is charity, and your spending on your family is charity. That you leave your family after you with a livelihood—or he said with sufficiency—is better than them begging."
