حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَنَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ النَّهْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

كُنْتُ جَالِسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَنَا وَرَجُلَانِ مَعِي، فَنِلْنَا مِنْ عَلِيٍّ، فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ غَضْبَانَ، يُعْرَفُ فِي وَجْهِهِ الْغَضَبُ، فَتَعَوَّذْتُ بِاللهِ مِنْ غَضَبِهِ، فَقَالَ: مَا لَكُمْ وَمَا لِي ؟ مَنْ آذَى عَلِيًّا فَقَدْ آذَانِي

Translation

✧ I was sitting in the mosque, I and two men with me, and we disparaged Ali. The Messenger of God ﷺ came angry, anger recognizable in his face. I sought refuge in God from his anger, and he said, "What is it between you and me? Whoever harms Ali has harmed me."
