✧ I was sitting in the mosque with two men and we were discussing Ali ؓ and spoke ill of him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached, angry, with anger recognizable on his face. I said, "I seek refuge in Allah from the anger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He ﷺ said, "What do you have against me? Whoever harms Ali has harmed me," saying it three times. He said: After that, someone would come to me and say, "Ali ؓ is alluding to you," saying, "Beware the trial of al-Ukhaynis." I would say, "Did he name me?" They would say, "No." I would say, "The khunnas among people are many. Allah forbid that I should harm the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after hearing from him what I heard."
