Musnad Abi Ya'la 732

Show the chain

✧ A group of people came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked him, and he gave them, except one man among them. Sa'd said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, you gave them and left so-and-so. By Allah, I consider him a believer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Or a Muslim.' Sa'd said that he said that three times, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I give a man a gift while someone else is more beloved to me, and I do that only out of fear that Allah may cast him face-first into the fire of Hell.
