✧ I said to Sa'd b. Malik: I want to ask you about a hadith, and I am in awe of you to ask you about it. He said: Do not do that, O son of my brother. If you know that I have knowledge, then ask me about it and do not hold me in awe. He said: I said: The saying of the Messenger of God ﷺ to Ali when he left him behind in Madinah during the expedition of Tabuk. He said: O Messenger of God, you are leaving me behind among the women and children? He said: Are you not pleased that you are to me in the position of Aaron to Moses? He said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: Then Ali turned away hurrying, and it is as if I can see the dust of his feet rising. And Hammad said: Ali returned hurrying.
