حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:

عَلَّمَنِي جَدِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ فِي قُنُوتِ الْوِتْرِ: اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَاهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ، سُبْحَانَكَ تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ

Translation

✧ My grandfather, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, taught me words to say in the qunut of the witr: O Allah, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, take me under Your care among those You have taken under Your care, guide me among those You have guided, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree and none decrees against You. And none whom You befriend is humiliated. Glory be to You, blessed and exalted are You.
