حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:

جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَعْرَابِيٌّ، فَأَعْجَبَهُ صِحَّتُهُ وَجَلَدُهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَتَى أَحْسَسْتَ أُمَّ مِلْدَمٍ ؟ فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ ؟ قَالَ: الْحُمَّى، قَالَ: وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ الْحُمَّى ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: سُخْنَةٌ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ الْجِلْدِ وَالْعَظْمِ، فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: مَا لِي بِذَلِكَ عَهْدٌ، قَالَ لَهُ: فَمَتَى أَحْسَسْتَ بِالصُّدَاعِ ؟ قَالَ: وَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ الصُّدَاعُ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ: ضَرَبَانٌ يَكُونُ فِي الصُّدْغَيْنِ وَالرَّأْسِ، فَقَالَ: مَا لِي بِذَلِكَ عَهْدٌ، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا وَلَّى الْأَعْرَابِيُّ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَيْهِ

Translation

✧ A bedouin came to the Prophet ﷺ, and his health and vigor pleased him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "When did you feel Umm Mildam?" The bedouin said: "What is Umm Mildam?" He said: "Fever." He said: "What is fever?" The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "A heat that occurs between the skin and the bone." The bedouin said: "I have no experience with that." He said to him: "Then when did you feel headache?" He said: "What is headache?" He said to him: "A throbbing that occurs in the temples and the head." He said: "I have no experience with that." He said: When the bedouin turned away, the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Whoever would like to look at a man from the people of the Fire, let him look at this one."
