حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ أُمَّ الْقُرْآنِ، فَقَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، مَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ، وَلَا فِي الْإِنْجِيلِ، وَلَا فِي الزَّبُورِ، وَلَا فِي الْفُرْقَانِ مِثْلَهَا، إِنَّهَا لَهِيَ السَّبْعُ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنُ الْعَظِيمُ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُهُ

Translation

✧ Ubayy b. Ka'b recited to him Umm al-Qur'an, and he said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul, God has not sent down in the Torah, nor in the Gospel, nor in the Psalms, nor in the Criterion anything like it. Indeed it is the Seven Oft-Repeated and the Mighty Qur'an which I have been given.
