✧ I entered the market one day with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He sat with the cloth-sellers and bought a pair of trousers for four dirhams. The market people had a weigher who weighed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: 'Weigh and give more.' The weigher said: 'This is a word I have never heard from anyone.' Abu Hurayra said: I said to him: 'Enough for you of sin and rudeness in your religion that you do not recognize your Prophet!' He threw down the scale and jumped toward the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanting to kiss it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ pulled his hand away from him and said: 'What is this? Only the non-Arabs do this with their kings. I am not a king; I am only a man from among you.' He weighed and gave more, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the trousers. Abu Hurayra said: I went to carry them for him, and he said: 'The owner of a thing is more entitled to carry his thing, unless he is weak and unable, in which case his Muslim brother helps him.' He said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, do you wear trousers?' He said: 'Yes, in travel and at home, by night and day, for I was commanded to cover and I found nothing more concealing than it.'
