حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْقَتَّاتِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكَ بِأَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: كُلُّ ضَعِيفٍ مُتَضَعِّفٍ ذِي طِمْرَيْنِ لَا يُؤْبَهُ لَهُ، لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللهِ لَأَبَرَّهُ. أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكَ بِأَهْلِ النَّارِ ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: كُلُّ جَظٍّ جَعْظٍ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ: مَا الْجَظُّ ؟ قَالَ: الضَّخْمُ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَا الْجَعْظُ ؟ قَالَ: الْعَظِيمُ فِي نَفْسِهِ

✧ Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise? I said, “Yes, O Messenger of God.” He said, “Every weak, humble person in two worn garments, to whom no attention is paid, who, if he swore by God, God would fulfill his oath. Shall I not tell you about the people of the Fire? I said, “Yes, O Messenger of God.” He said, “Every coarse, arrogant, haughty person.” I said to Abū Hurayra, “What is jaẓẓ?” He said, “Large-bodied.” I said, “What is jaʿẓ?” He said, “One who considers himself great.”
