✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ besieged the people of al-Ta’if, but he did not gain anything from them. He said, 'We are returning, God willing.' His companions said, 'Shall we return without having conquered?' The Messenger of God ﷺ said to them, 'Set out for battle in the morning.' They set out in the morning, and they were wounded. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to them, 'We are returning tomorrow,' and that pleased them. The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled.
