Chain of narrators
- Abū Maʿmar
- Muḥammad b. Furāt
✧ Two men brought a dispute to Muharib. He said: A man testified against one of them, and the one testified against said: By God, I did not know that he was a truthful man, and if you ask about him he will be praised—or commended—yet he has testified falsely against me; I do not know what emboldened him to do that. Muharib b. Dithar said: O you, fear God! For I heard Abdullah b. Umar say: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: The false witness's feet will not move until the Fire becomes incumbent upon him, and indeed the birds on the Day of Resurrection will beat their wings and cast out what is in their bellies, having no desire for it. And the Prophet ﷺ was admonishing a man.
