حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ - قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: رَفَعَهُ، وَأَنَا لَا أَرْفَعُهُ لَكَ

فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ بِظُلْمٍ نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ قَالَ: لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا هَمَّ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ وَهُوَ بِعَدَنِ أَبْيَنَ لَأَذَاقَهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

✧ About the saying of Allah: 'And whoever intends therein a deviation with wrongdoing, We will make him taste a painful punishment,' he said: 'If a man intended therein a deviation while he was in Aden Abyan, Allah the Exalted would make him taste a painful punishment.'

    يرويه السدي وقد اختلف عنه فرفعه شعبة عن السدي ووقفه الثوري والقول قول شعبة

    machine translationAl-Suddī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him: Shuʿbah reported it from al-Suddī as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ), while al-Thawrī reported it as stopped at the Companion (mawqūf), and the correct view is the view of Shuʿbah.
