حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَجْنِي لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سِوَاكًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ، وَكَانَتْ تَكْفَؤُهُ الرِّيحُ، فَكَانَ فِي سَاقَيْهِ دِقَّةٌ، فَضَحِكَ الْقَوْمُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: مَا يُضْحِكُكُمْ ؟ قَالُوا: دِقَّةُ سَاقَيْهِ، قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَهُمَا أَثْقَلُ فِي الْمِيزَانِ مِنْ أُحُدٍ

Translation

✧ He used to gather a siwak for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from an arak tree, and the wind would bend him, and there was slenderness in his legs, so the people laughed. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'What makes you laugh?' They said: 'The slenderness of his legs.' He said: 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, they are heavier on the scale than Mount Uhud.'
