✧ Alqamah and al-Aswad asked permission to enter upon Abdullah, and they had prolonged sitting at his door until midday. He said: 'I went out and sought permission for them, and he admitted them. He said to them: "What kept you from entering?" They said: "We thought you were asleep." He said: "I would not like you to think that of me. We used to equate prayer at this hour with night prayer, or something like night prayer." Then he said: "You will be ruled by commanders who will be distracted from the time of prayer, so pray it at its proper time." Then he stood and prayed between him and it, then said: "Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do."
