✧ I entered upon Abdullah to visit him while he was ill, and he narrated to us two hadiths: a hadith from himself and a hadith from the Messenger of God ﷺ. He said: "Indeed the believer sees his sins as if he is at the base of a mountain, fearing that it will fall upon him. And indeed the wicked person sees his sins like a fly that passed over his nose, so he waved it away from himself." He said: "And I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ saying: 'God is more intensely pleased with the repentance of His believing servant than a man in a desolate, dangerous land, with him his riding camel upon which is his food and drink, who fell asleep, then woke up and it had gone. He stood up seeking it, and he sought it until thirst overtook him. Then he said: I will return to my place where I was until I die. He said: So he placed his head on his forearm to die, then he woke up and his riding camel was with him, upon it his provisions, his food, and his drink. So God is more intensely pleased with the repentance of His servant than this man with his riding camel and his provisions.'"
