حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
إِنَّ اللهَ وِتْرٌ، يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرِ، فَأَوْتِرُوا يَا أَهْلَ الْقُرْآنِ، فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ: مَا تَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: لَيْسَ لَكَ وَلَا لِأَصْحَابِكَ

✧ Allah is one and loves that which is odd-numbered, so perform witr, O people of the Qur'an. A bedouin said, 'What are you saying, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'It is not for you nor for your companions.'
