✧ Obligation of Witr: Is Any Voluntary Prayer Obligatory

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ: فِي ابْنَةِ سِتِّ سِنِينَ أَوْ خَمْسٍ: أَتَأْمُرُهَا بِالْوِتْرِ ؟ قَالَ: رَكْعَتَانِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ، كَانَ يُقَالُ: الْوِتْرُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْقُرْآنِ
Translation
✧ I said to Ibrahim: Concerning a girl of six or five years: Do you command her to pray witr? He said: Two rak'ahs after 'Isha'. It used to be said: Witr is obligatory upon the people of the Qur'an.
