  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr

machine translationThis Ḥumayd al-Aʿraj is not Ḥumayd b. Qays al-Makkī al-Aʿraj al-Muqrī, the teacher of Mālik. Rather, he is Ḥumayd b. ʿAṭāʾ al-Aʿraj al-Kūfī, weak in ḥadīth (ḍaʿīf); all of them declare him weak, and most of his ḥadīths are rejected (munkar).

  • Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr
