حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ قَالَ: يَا بِنْتَ الصِّدِّيقِ - أَوْ يَا بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ - الَّذِينَ يُصَلُّونَ، وَيَصُومُونَ وَهُمْ يَفْرَقُونَ أَنْ لَا تُتَقَبَّلَ مِنْهُمْ، وَيَتَصَدَّقُونَ وَيَفْرَقُونَ أَنْ لَا تُتَقَبَّلَ مِنْهُمْ

✧ Regarding His saying: 'And those who give what they give while their hearts are fearful that they will return to their Lord' (23:60), he said: "O daughter of al-Siddiq"—or "O daughter of Abu Bakr"—"those who pray and fast while fearing that it will not be accepted from them, and give charity while fearing that it will not be accepted from them."
