حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرِّشْكِ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ:
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ وِصَالِ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: أَتَعْمَلِينَ كَعَمَلِهِ، فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ، وَكَانَ عَمَلُهُ نَافِلَةً ؟ ثُمَّ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: أَمَّا أَنَا فَوَاللهِ، مَا صُمْتُ لَيْلًا قَطُّ، إِنَّ اللهَ قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ

✧ A woman asked Aisha about the continuous fasting of the Messenger of God ﷺ. She said: Do you perform deeds like his, for he has been forgiven his past and future sins, and his deeds were supererogatory? Then Aisha said: As for me, by God, I never fasted through the night at all. God said: "Then complete the fast until the night."
