حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:

لَوْ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَا نَرَى لَمَنَعَهُنَّ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ كَمَا مَنَعَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ نِسَاءَهَا، لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَجْرَ فِي مُرُوطِنَا، وَنَنْصَرِفُ وَمَا يَعْرِفُ بَعْضُنَا وُجُوهَ بَعْضٍ

✧ If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had seen from women what we see, he would have forbidden them from the mosques as the Children of Israel forbade their women. I saw us praying the dawn prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in our cloaks, and we would depart without some of us recognizing the faces of others.
