✧ A group of Jews asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ and said, “Al-sām ʿalayka (death be upon you).” ʿĀʾishah said, “I said, ‘Upon you be death and the curse.’” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “O ʿĀʾishah, God loves gentleness in all matters.” She said, “I said, ‘Did you not hear what they said?’” He said, “I said, ‘And upon you.’”
