حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ النَّرْسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ السَّلِيمِيُّ، عَنِ الْخَلِيلِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ الْفُرَاتِ بْنِ سَلْمَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَلِيٌّ:

أَلَا يَقُومُ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الْعَصْرِ، وَيَقُولُ فِيهِنَّ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: تَمَّ نُورُكَ فَهَدَيْتَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، عَظُمَ حِلْمُكَ فَعَفَوْتَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، بَسَطْتَ يَدَكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، رَبَّنَا وَجْهُكَ أَكْرَمُ الْوُجُوهِ، وَجَاهُكَ أَعْظَمُ الْجَاهِ، وَعَطِيَّتُكَ أَفْضَلُ الْعَطِيَّةِ وَأَهْنَؤُهَا، تُطَاعُ رَبَّنَا فَتَشْكُرُ، وَتُعْصَى رَبَّنَا فَتَغْفِرُ، وَتُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ، وَتَكْشِفُ الضُّرَّ، وَتَشْفِي السَّقِيمَ، وَتَغْفِرُ الذَّنْبَ، وَتَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ، وَلَا يَجْزِي بِآلَائِكَ أَحَدٌ، وَلَا يَبْلُغُ مِدْحَتَكَ قَوْلُ قَائِلٍ

Translation

✧ Would one of you not stand and pray four rak'ahs before Asr, and say in them what the Messenger of God ﷺ used to say: 'Your light is complete, so You guided, and to You belongs praise. Your forbearance is great, so You pardoned, and to You belongs praise. You spread out Your hand and gave, and to You belongs praise. Our Lord, Your face is the noblest of faces, Your honor is the greatest honor, and Your gift is the best and most pleasant gift. You are obeyed, our Lord, and You thank; You are disobeyed, our Lord, and You forgive. You answer the distressed, remove harm, heal the sick, forgive sin, accept repentance, and no one can repay Your favors, nor can any speaker's words reach the extent of Your praise.'
