حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ فِي بَلْهُجَيْمٍ بِالْبَصْرَةِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَدِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَارَةَ الْجَرْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادٌ النُّمَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَدَخَلَ دَارًا مِنْ دُورِ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ، فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا مُنْتَقِعًا لَوْنُهُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَهْلُ هَذِهِ الْقُبُورِ ؟ قَالُوا: قُبُورٌ، مَاتُوا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا، فَقَالَ: تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَبْدَانَهُمْ كَيْفَ يُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ
Translation

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ when he entered a house among the houses of Banu al-Najjar. He came out to us with his color changed and said: Who are the people of these graves? They said: They are graves of people who died in the pre-Islamic era. He then turned to us and said: Seek refuge in God from the punishment of the grave. For by the One in whose hand is my soul, I have seen their bodies and how they are being punished in their graves.
