حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ابْنَةٌ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَذَكَرَتْ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا وَجَمَالِهَا، فَآثَرْتُكَ بِهَا، قَالَ: قَدْ قَبِلْتُهَا، فَلَمْ تَزَلْ تَمْدَحُهَا حَتَّى ذَكَرَتْ أَنَّهَا لَمْ تُصْدَعْ وَلَمْ تَشْتَكِ شَيْئًا قَطُّ، قَالَ: لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِي ابْنَتِكِ

Translation

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a daughter who is such and such," and she mentioned her beauty and loveliness, "and I preferred you with her." He said, "I have accepted her." She did not cease praising her until she mentioned that she had never had a headache or complained of anything at all. He said, "I have no need of your daughter."
