✧ O Ali, say: O God, guide me and direct me aright; and remember, by guidance, Your guiding to the path, and remember, by directing aright, Your directing of the arrow. He said: And he forbade me from placing the ring on the index finger or the middle finger, and he forbade me from qassī garments and the mīthara. Abū Burda said: We said to Ali: What is qassī? He said: Garments from Syria and Egypt, ribbed, having designs like citrons. He said: And the mīthara is something women used to make for their husbands, like qatāʾif (a kind of cushion or cloth).
