✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon a man to visit him, and behold he had become like a fledgling from the severity of illness. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "Would you not supplicate? Would you not ask?" He said, "Yes, I used to say: O God, whatever You would punish me with in the Hereafter, hasten it for me in this world." The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "Then you would not be able to bear that. Why did you not say: 'Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire'?" So he said it, and he was healed.
