حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَّابِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، قَالَ: أَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَصِيرَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

أَنَّهُ: رَأَى إِنْسَانًا بِهِ بَلَاءٌ، فَقَالَ: لَعَلَّكَ سَأَلْتَهُ أَنْ يُعَجِّلَ لَكَ الْبَلَاءَ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: " فَهَلَّا سَأَلْتَ اللهَ الْعَافِيَةَ، وَقُلْتَ: اللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

✧ He saw a person afflicted with a trial, so he said: Perhaps you asked Him to hasten the trial for you. He said: Yes. He said: Why did you not ask God for well-being and say: O God, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire?
