✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ consummated his marriage with Zaynab bt. Jahsh and provided food for her, and held a walimah for her with bread and meat. He said: I was sent, and the food was covered, and I invited people. A group would come and eat, then leave. I kept inviting until I found no one left to invite. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I find no one left to invite.' He said: 'Then remove your food.' And Zaynab was sitting in a side of the house. He said: She was a woman who had been given beauty. Three men remained in the house conversing. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ went out and headed toward A'ishah's room, and said: 'Peace be upon you, O people of the house, and the mercy of Allah. How are you this morning?' She replied: 'And upon you peace and the mercy of Allah. How have you found your wife? May Allah bless you in them.' He said: Then he visited the rooms of all his wives, saying to them what he had said to A'ishah, and they replied as A'ishah had replied. Then the Prophet of Allah returned, and the three men were still conversing in the house. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ was extremely shy, so he went toward A'ishah's room. I do not know whether I informed him or he was informed that the people had left, so he returned. When he placed one of his feet on the threshold of the door and the other outside it, he let down a curtain between me and him, and the verse of hijab was revealed.
