حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ السَّلْمَانِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ حَبَسَهُ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ، فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ امْلَأْ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى، حَتَّى كَادَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ

✧ The Prophet of Allah ﷺ was detained by the polytheists on the Day of the Confederates from the afternoon prayer until the sun was about to set. He said: 'O Allah, fill their graves and their homes with fire as they distracted us from the middle prayer, until the sun was about to set.'
