حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ:

قَالَتِ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا رَأَيْنَا مِثْلَ قَوْمٍ قَدِمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ، أَحْسَنَ بَذْلًا مِنْ كَثِيرٍ، وَلَا أَحْسَنَ مُوَاسَاةً مِنْ قَلِيلٍ، قَدْ كَفَوْنَا الْمُؤْنَةَ، وَأَشْرَكُونَا فِي الْمَهْنَأِ، وَقَدْ خَشِينَا أَنْ يَذْهَبُوا بِالْأَجْرِ كُلِّهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: كَلَّا، مَا أَثْنَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَدَعَوْتُمُ اللهَ لَهُمْ

Translation

✧ The Muhajirun said: O Messenger of God, we have never seen the like of a people we came to, better in generosity with much, nor better in consoling with little. They have spared us the burden and shared with us in the good things. We fear that they will take all the reward. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Not at all, not as long as you praise them and supplicate to God for them.
