وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ النِّيلِيُّ، ثَنَا صَالِحٌ الْمُرِّيُّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ بَعْضِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ، قَالَ:
قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا رَأَيْنَا مِثْلَ قَوْمٍ نَزَلْنَا بِهِمْ، يَعْنِي: الْأَنْصَارَ، لَقَدْ أَشْرَكُونَا فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَكَفَوْنَا الْمُؤْنَةَ، وَلَقَدْ خِفْنَا أَنْ يَكُونُوا قَدْ ذَهَبُوا بِالْأَجْرِ كُلِّهِ، فَقَالَ ﷺ: كَلَّا، مَا دَعَوْتُمُ اللهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - لَهُمْ وَأَثْنَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَلَمْ يَذْهَبُوا بِالْأَجْرِ كُلِّهِ
Translation

✧ They said: O Messenger of God, we have not seen the like of a people whom we stayed with, meaning the Helpers. They shared their wealth with us and spared us the burden, and we feared that they might have taken all the reward. He ﷺ said: No, as long as you supplicate to God - Mighty and Majestic - for them and praise them, they will not have taken all the reward.
