حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ:
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا ؟ قَالَ: هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمِ، ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّهَا لَا تَحِلُّ لِي، إِنَّمَا هِيَ ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ

✧ I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why do you choose among Quraysh and leave us?' He said: 'Do you have anyone?' I said: 'Yes, the daughter of Hamzah.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'She is not lawful for me; she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.'
