✧ A newborn, until he reaches the age of accountability: whatever good he does is recorded for his parent, or his parents; and whatever evil he does is not recorded against him or against his parents. When he reaches the age of accountability, the pen flows over him. The two angels who are with him are commanded to preserve and to be strict. When he reaches forty years in Islam, God protects him from three afflictions: madness, leprosy, and vitiligo. When he reaches fifty, God lightens his reckoning. When he reaches sixty, God grants him turning to Him in repentance in a manner He loves. When he reaches seventy, the inhabitants of heaven love him. When he reaches eighty, God writes down his good deeds and overlooks his bad deeds. When he reaches ninety, God forgives his past and future sins, and lets him intercede for the members of his household, and he becomes a prisoner of God on His earth. When he reaches the most abject age, so that he knows nothing after having known, God writes for him the like of the good he used to do when he was healthy, and if he does an evil deed, it is not written against him.
