✧ "I will give the banner tomorrow to a man through whose hands God will grant victory." He said: The people went early to the Messenger of God ﷺ, each hoping that he would give him the banner. He said, "Where is Ali b. Abi Talib?" They said, "He has an eye complaint, O Messenger of God." He said, "Call him." He was brought, and he spat in his eye and prayed for him, and he was cured. Then he gave him the banner and said, "Call Ali." He came, and he said, "O Ali, do not turn aside until you descend upon the people and call them." He said, "O Messenger of God, shall we fight them until they say 'There is no god but God'?" He said, "Proceed gently. When you come to them, call them to God. By God, if one man becomes Muslim at your hands, it is better for you than having red camels."
