✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ became gravely ill, he began stretching out one leg and drawing in the other, stretching out one hand and drawing in the other. Fatimah said: “O my grief, for your suffering, O father!”—al-Qawariri said: Hammad said: “Preserve it: he said ‘O my grief,’ and he did not say ‘O my grief, for your suffering, O father.’” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “O my little daughter, there is no grief upon your father after this day.” When he passed away, Fatimah said: “O father, he answered a Lord who called him! O father, to Gabriel we announce his death! O father, how near he is to his Lord! O father, the Garden of Firdaws is his abode.” Anas said: When we buried him, Fatimah said to me: “O Anas, how could you find it in yourselves to heap dust upon the Messenger of God ﷺ?”
