حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ هُرَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَذْكُرُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:

لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: لا تَشْعُرُونَ قَالَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ: أَنَا وَاللهِ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَرْفَعُ صَوْتِي عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَإِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَرْفَعُ صَوْتِي عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: بَلْ هُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ. أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ

Translation

✧ When it was revealed: “O you who believe, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet” up to His saying: “while you do not perceive,” Thabit b. Qays said: “By God, I am the one who used to raise his voice in the presence of the Messenger of God ﷺ, and I fear that I may be among the people of the Fire. I used to raise my voice in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Rather, he is among the people of the Garden,” or something similar.
