✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was pleased by dreams. Perhaps a man would see a dream and he would ask about him if he did not know him, and if he was praised as good, he was more pleased with his dream. A woman came to him and said: O Messenger of God, I saw as though I was taken and brought out of Madinah and admitted into Paradise. I heard a crash that made Paradise tremble. I looked and saw so-and-so son of so-and-so, and so-and-so son of so-and-so. She named twelve men, and the Messenger of God ﷺ had sent a detachment of that number. They were brought wearing dark garments, their jugular veins gushing blood. It was said: Take them to the river of Baydhaj, or: al-Bayrah. He said: They were plunged into it and came out with faces like the moon on the night of the full moon. They were brought a platter of gold containing unripe dates, and they ate of its unripe dates as much as they wished. They did not turn it from any side except that they ate of the fruit they desired, and I ate with them. Then the bearer of good news came from that detachment and said: Our situation was such-and-such, and so-and-so and so-and-so were killed, until he counted twelve men. The Messenger of God ﷺ summoned the woman and said: Recount your dream. So she recounted it, and she began to say: So-and-so was brought, and so-and-so was brought, just as he had said.
