✧ The verse "O people, fear your Lord" up to His saying "But the punishment of God is severe" was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ while he was on a journey. He raised his voice with it until his companions gathered to him. He said: "Do you know what day this is? This is the day when God says to Adam: 'Arise and send a group to the Fire: from every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.'" That weighed heavily on the Muslims. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Be moderate, draw near, and rejoice. By Him in whose hand is my soul, among the people you are only like a black mole on the side of a camel, or like a mark on the foreleg of a beast. Indeed with you are two of the greatest creations that never were in anything but they increased it: Gog and Magog, and those who perished among the disbelieving jinn and humans."
