✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sacrificed two horned rams with white and black markings. He brought one of them near and said: 'In the name of God. O God, from You and to You, this is on behalf of Muhammad and his family.' He brought the other near and said: 'In the name of God. O God, from You and to You, this is on behalf of those of my community who affirm Your oneness.'

machine translationSulaymān b. Ḥarb objected that Qatādah and other memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Anas in the same way, so the disagreement concerns Anas himself. He said: Perhaps he heard the Prophet ﷺ teaching someone else how to declare the intention for Qirān (combining ḥajj and ʿumrah), and so he thought that he was declaring it for himself.
