أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الدَّقِيقِيُّ بِهَمْدَانَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ حَاجِبٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شُبْرُمَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ قَالَ
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُقَرِّبُ كَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ فَيَذْبَحُ أَحَدَهُمَا فَيَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ» وَيُقَرِّبُ الْآخَرَ فَيَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا عَنْ أُمَّتِي مَنْ شَهِدَ لَكَ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ وَلِي بِالْبَلَاغِ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to bring near two white sheep with black markings and slaughter one of them, saying: “O Allah, this is on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.” He would bring the other near and say: “O Allah, this is on behalf of my Ummah—whoever bears witness to Your Oneness and to my conveying the message.”
