✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sacrifice two salt-and-white rams with horns. He would pronounce the name of Allah and say Allahu Akbar. I saw him slaughter them with his own hand, placing his foot on their sides.

  • Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī

machine translationSulaymān b. Ḥarb objected that Qatādah and other memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Anas in the same way, so the disagreement concerns Anas himself. He said: Perhaps he heard the Prophet ﷺ teaching someone else how to declare the intention for Qirān (combining ḥajj and ʿumrah), and so he thought that he was declaring it for himself.
