✧ I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ with his companions near al-Zawra, or he said: near the houses of Madinah. He wanted to perform ablution, and a bowl containing a little water was brought to him. He placed his hand on the bowl, and water began to gush from between his fingers until all the people performed ablution. I said to Anas: How many were you? He said: About three hundred.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationSaʿīd b. Abī ʿArūbah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. It was narrated from Makkī b. Ibrāhīm, from Saʿīd, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Anas; Aḥmad b. al-Ḥubāb al-Ḥimyarī said this from Makkī, and it is not preserved (maḥfūẓ). Yazīd b. Zurayʿ, al-Bursānī and Ghundar contradicted him: they narrated it from Shuʿbah, from Qatādah, from Anas, without al-Ḥasan in it, and this is the correct version.
